The Cheshire Clubs Cricket Committee 
at the Board's request, was instrumental in achieving ECB Premier League status for the Senior 
League of the Cheshire County Cricket League, involving the top 12 clubs in the County. 
Involved in the accreditation procedure was the creation of a pyramid involving promotion and 
relegation for  Men's teams within the County and integrating the three Cheshire Leagues:

Most Clubs playing in the integrated league structure also have 2nd and 3rd XI Teams playing 
competitive cricket and in some cases, Clubs field 4th and 5th XIs. 
Each League has its own Representative sides, playing at Junior and Senior level, additional to
the cricket organised by the County Youth and Coaching Association. 
The Cheshire Clubs Cricket Committee also organises the Cheshire Cup. the 
Cheshire Shield and U21 Competitions all sponsored by Lovelane Limited . The Shield which started in 2000 provides Cup cricket
for Clubs who would normally expect not to survive early rounds of the main Cheshire Cup.
