Andy is proud to say that since 2003 all Cheshire affiliated clubs and leagues have not only adopted
ECB Child Welfare Policy, but have appointed and trained, at least one Club Welfare Officer.
He thanks them all for helping to raise the awareness and importance of Child Welfare throughout the county.
In Oct 2007 the revised ECB Child Welfare Policy (Safe Hands) was published, to succeed the original 2003 version.
Safe Hands forms the basis of the Time to Listen Courses run throughout the County.
On 12th Oct 2009 the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 comes into force and Andy will be working with Clubs
and their Welfare Officers to implement any changes to the vetting process for volunteers within cricket.
Whilst access to Safe Hands is available on line a hard copy can be purchased from the Cheshire Cricket Board for £10 each
(cheques payable to CCB, and posted to the Cheshire Cricket Board, 2 Moss Farm Cottages, Moss Farm Leisure Complex, Winnington,
Northwich CW8 4BG)
Whilst any concerns about Child Welfare should be directed initially to the Club Welfare Officer, Andy is always available for help and advise.
Posts which require CRB Checks (A CRB certificate needs to be renewed every 3 years)
